In the municipality of Kambja, the intersection of the Tatra-Otepää-Sangaste basic road No. 46 and the Nõo-Kambja secondary road No. 22180 is a four-lane simple intersection, which is difficult to see when approaching from the side, which is why there have been several accidents with injuries at the intersection.

The intersection provided poor visibility of the main road, as its longitudinal profile was uneven and visibility was limited by high slopes, forest, brush, and isolated trees.

The project improved the longitudinal profile of the main road, added safety islands on the branches of the secondary road, and designed bus stops in the intersection area that ensure the maximum visibility of pedestrians crossing the road.

This resulted in an intersection that is significantly safer than the previous version.
Construction of the intersection was completed in 2017.
